Top 5 Best Hotels in Boracay
Boracay is a small island in the Philippines about 200 miles south of Manila. Its combination of long white-sand beaches and charming towns is earning the island travel magazine awards as one of the most popular destinations for relaxation and nightlife. In 2012, Borocay received Travel and Leisure magazine’s “Best Island in the World” award.
Boracay began attracting tourists in the 1970s and became a popular budget destination for backpackers. The most popular beaches on the island are White Beach, which faces westward, and Bulabog Beach, which faces eastward. White Beach is lined with resorts, hotels, restaurants, and other tourist services. A footpath known as the Beachfront Path separates the beach itself from the establishments located along it. At the northern end of White Beach, a footpath follows the headland, connecting White Beach with Diniwid Beach.
Bulabog Beach is the island’s most popuar windsurfing and kiteboarding area.
Boracay is divided into five Stations: Stations One, Two, and Three run along White Beach and Station Four is parallel to Bulabog Beach. Station Five is at either end of the island.
Boracay is temperate and warm all year-round, but the rainiest months are May-October. Perfect for a warm winter holiday!
Here are my five favorite hotels on Boracay. The one downside to these hotels is you might not even get a chance to see the beach, because they are way too comfortable. Try them out and let me know what you think!
Number Five—Gran Prix Boracay Hideaway
The Gran Prix Boracay Hideaway hotel is on my top five list because it provides the most value for your money. For a very reasonable nightly rate, you can stay in your own room with its own balcony and chairs. In this hotel, you can really feel that you have your own personal space without a huge expense. The beds are spacious and very comfortable. The staff at the Gran Prix Boracay is very accommodating and available around-the-clock. Breakfast is served every day with your choice of American or Filipino breakfast.

This may be a small hotel, but it is perfectly situated right in between the beautiful beachfront of Station One and the busy night-life of Station Two. So, if you would want to enjoy the beach in the morning and then party the night away without burning holes in your pockets, Gran Prix Boracay Hideaway hotel is the place for you.
Number Four—Astoria Boracay
The Astoria Boracay resort is one of the best, if not the best, mid-range hotels on the island. This hotel follows a boutique style in which the rooms are separated in a simple, yet elegant, way. One of the most beautiful amenities this hotel has to offer is its 72- by 13-foot pool which changes color at night, creating a lavish effect. It is located in Station One, between the open beachfront and nearby bars and restaurants. At Astoria Boracay you can enjoy the same comforts as you would at one of Boracay’s more expensive hotels: Breakfast and lunch buffets are served in the dining area while dinner is served by the beach, where diners are serenaded by Boracay’s local talents.
Number Three— Boracay Regency
Boracay Regency is one of the bigger hotels on the island. It is a favorite among vacationers and has Mediterranean-inspired architecture, luxurious rooms, and an expansive beachfront of powder-white sand and crystal-clear water. At this hotel you have the choice of swimming in one of three beautifully designed swimming pools. The breakfast and lunch buffets are scrumptious. The Regency is right in the middle of Boracay’s bar scene. Only a few steps away are Juice Bar and Summer Palace, two of the island’s most famous bars. Not far away is D’mall, Boracay’s own version of a beach-side mall, and D’Talipapa, where you can pick the freshest catches of the day and enjoy seafood treats freshly cooked for you. If you want to experience it all and have your hotel right nearby to sit back and relax, the Boracay Regency is perfect for you.
Number Two—Discovery Shores
Discovery shores is one of the most comfortable hotels to stay in when you are on Boracay. The rooms are like your own condo and are situated nicely away from one another, adding luxury and privacy. This hotel has the best service by far of any other hotel and offers quiet and serenity. Situated in Station One, far from the noisiest areas of the island, this hotel is ideal for rest and relaxation, lying on the sand, and swimming in the crystal-blue water. Kick back, relax, and enjoy the gentle sway of palm trees and caress of the ocean.
Number One—Shangri-La Hotel Boracay
Over all the rest of the hotels on Boracay, the Shangri-La reigns supreme. From the very moment you land in Kalibo or Caticlan, to the moment you are in the airport waiting for your flight home, you are cared for and pampered by friendly hotel staff. Even the boat ride from the airport to the island is by chartered speed boat. Upon arriving on the hotel’s dock, you are greeted by welcoming staff and escorted by buggy to the reception lobby.
