Hoi An Market, dating back to the 17th century, is now a popular destination with Vietnamese Vermicelli, spring roll noodles or Vietnamese crepe.
- Vietnamese Vermicelli
Vietnamese Vermicelli is delicious that any visitors to Hoi An should try once. It has been praised by the British newspaper as “the whole history of Hoi An”, a Vietnamese Vermicelli bowl must have soft gold noodles made from ancient well water.
The noodles are neatly placed on the bottom of the bowl with a little price, cinnamon, basil, a few slices of pork fillet, shrimp, chicken and crispy pork . Diners will add green peppers to eat more delicious. Each bowl costs from 30,000 VND (about USD 1,4)
- Steamed thin rice pancake with grilled meat
Grilled meat should be lean and soft. Meat is cooked on charcoal stove. Grilled meat will be scorched so that the scent can be taken down. Food is not fulfilled without the cup of the common sauce with the mix of the liver and soy bean.
Each set of food costs about 20,000 VND (nearly 1 USD). Each skewer of roast meat has price of 5,000 to 6,000 VND.
- Rice vermicelli with pork sausage
A noodles bowl includes fresh noodles, pork sausage, pork pieces and raw vegetables. The broth is made from bones so it is very clear and aromatic. A bowl of noodles is priced at 30,000 VND.
- Quang Noodles
Quang noodle is not only the pride of Hoi An people but also Quang Nam province in general. Wheat noodles are attractive with yellow noodles fiber, broth cooked from chicken, pork, shrimp, fish or crabs depending on each restaurant. This broth has to be sure that it is comparable, rich and fat.
Dishes will be better if eaten with spicy chilli peppers, accompanied by chopped raw vegetables. A noodle bowl costs an average of 25,000 VND in Hoi An Market.

Noodles with grilled pork in Hoi An market besides having the longer noodles fiber, the more fragrant sauce is the highlight that makes a difference compared to other places. Meat is also carefully marinated and cooked on a red charcoal stove. In the market, there are more than 3 restaurants selling this dish. Each eatery has a unique style of cooking but the taste at Lieu restaurant is the most favorite one. A bowl of noodles is priced at 30,000 VND.
- Vietnamese crepe
Unlike in the South, Crepe in the central region is smaller. Inside the pie, there are only a few shrimp, bean sprout, thin pieces of meat … In return, you will not feel fatty if eat about 5 pieces, even when it is fried. When eating, guests roll with rice paper and eat with raw vegetables, soy sauce. Each piece costs between VND 5,000 and VND 10,000.
- Sweet gruel
What probably “tempted” most visitors in the market are the stalls with many colorful sweet soups. Cups of grass jelly, Sweet banana with coconut gruel, Green beans sweet gruel… suitable for sweet people, eat ice. Each cup of gruel has an average price of 8,000 to 10,000 VND, depending on the type and eatery.
