As the oldest city of Malaysia, Malacca is famous as the city of peace with ancient houses. Currently, Malacca is known as a multi-cultural city, colorful with the convergence of many other architectural styles and culture from China, Portuguese, Dutch and the local.

A famosa fortress

Portugal was built in the early 1500s, the fort A Famosa was the place storing ammunition, residence of the officers, Captain in the war at that time. Currently what remains of the fort A Famosa just the ruin, except Porta de Santiago stone gate still standing over hundreds of years. Thanks to the Stamford Raffles (the founder of Singapore) has helped to avoid the fort’s demolition plans before the British handed over to the Netherlands in 1808.

Mosque Masjid Selat (Malacca Straits)

This sanctuary opened in 2006, built in the style of the Middle East combined with Malay architecture. Museum Malacca Sultanate Palace

The museum was built in 1984 and was inaugurated on 17.7.1986 by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. The work is based on the description of the historic of the palace of Sultan Mansur Shah who ruled Malacca from 1458 to 1477. The aim of the museum is to introduce the history of the region.

Stadthuys

Stadthuys in ancient Dutch language stock which means the town hall or the Red Square, located in the heart of Malacca. This building was built to be the city hall under the rule of the Dutch in the 17th century This used to be the office of the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Netherlands, then used as schools to teach English free UK under British rule. Currently, it is a museum of the history of Malacca kept.

Taming Sari tower

Taming Sari is the first rotating tower in Malaysia, the most ideal place for you to enjoy the panoramic views of Malacca in perspective 360 degrees. Tower is open from 10am to 10pm daily. Each rotating turn of the tower tour will last for 7 minutes. Also, at the foot of the tower are some other activities that you can try such as horseback riding or rent electric vehicles to explore Malacca.

Cheng Hoon Teng Temple

Cheng Hoon Teng temple is the oldest Chinese relic in Malacca, was built in the 1600s, is located in the city of Jonker Walk. Cheng Hoon Teng interspersed with temples as mosques, Hindu temples, the church of God. This ancient temple has been recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage in 2002. Today, this shrine worships the majority religion such as Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. Cheng Hoon Teng open to visitors from 7 to 19h.

Baba – Nyonya Musium

The museum was founded in 1986 by Mr. Chan Kim Lay – the fourth generation to live in this house, this is the cultural reproduction place of Chinese and Malay, also known as Baba Nyonya. Currently, the museum is place displaying than 1,000 artifacts associated with the formation of the house consists of materials such as wood, ceramic, porcelain, glass, silver … is decorated in the living space as a room dining, bedroom, living room …

St. Paul Church.

Church of Saint Paul located on the hilltop St. Paul was built in 1521 by Portuguese and volatility associated with many event of the city. Currently the church has been burned down much of the roof, there is only the empty building with stable walls made of huge rocks red square. However, it is still one of the places marks the history of the ancient town of Malacca .

Jonker street.

Although only a small town but Jonker was named the “soul of Malacca” with peaceful streets and houses ancient architecture. Christ Church

The church was built in the first century 18 (1741 – 1753) under the Dutch architecture after taking Malacca from the Portuguese hands. Initially, the church was painted white until the early 1900s, the church was painted red. This is also the main color of most of the colonial buildings from the Netherlands, so Christ Church also called “Red Church”.
