I cannot say for sure which country this popular Bangkok street food originated from but I think papaya salad is unique in each country because of small differences in ingredients. Besides papaya, Som Tum also has carrot, tomatoes, chilies, peanut, sticky rice, sugar, lime, garlic, fish sauce, and tamarind juice.

Chinatown is situated in the South of Bangkok, on Yaowarat street and it is considered as the heaven of best Bangkok food. Chinatown Bangkok is packed with market stalls and various street-side restaurant, all the them are long famous for delicious Thai and Chinese food, ranging from colorful snacks to noble specialities.

The way from Saphan Taksin BTS station to Charoen Krung Road & Silom Road crossing is called the dream walk of foodies because of many vibrant restaurants and food stalls packed on both sides. You can find here both French specialities and fabulous Bangkok food. Some people even say that the cooking secret of normal vendors to professional cooks here may shame even the finest French chefs. When coming here, you shouldn’t missed out on roasted duck. Maybe it is the best duck you have ever had!
