Situated in the heart of the northern region in Vietnam, Hanoi is the capital city with more than 1,000 years of age. Along with time, the city is built up by a long history of different cultural events and festivals. 1. “Tết Mông xuống phố” – New Year with Mong ethnic people
This cultural event will represent the life of Mong ethnic people right in front of your eyes. Mong people are just like other ethnic ones, as they celebrate their New Year by connecting with their deities spiritually. Additionally, they also hold festivals like this to gather with family, friends at their homes and with the whole villages too.
In order for the youngsters to get together and communicate with each other, they operate games like pao throwing, or singing their traditional songs. A lot of weddings take place around this time too, and one of the most popular events for them is the tradition of “haib puj”, literally meaning “taking the wife”.

2. Made in Thailand outlet 2018
Made in Thailand outlet, the exhibition of retailing products of Thailand, has been held for 13 years in Hanoi. It provides products from Thailand with guaranteed high quality, varying from household appliances, textile products, jewelry to food and beverage, health products and such.

3. Xuan Phat Tai 8 (Prosperous Spring 8) – Comedy show
Hosted by Hoa Duong Entertainment, Xuan Phat Tai has been organized 7 times before and attracted more than 4 thousand people to come and watch per event. This changing period from winter to spring is just an ideal time to gather with your family and friends to enjoy a comedy show and have some relaxing time for yourself.
The show is carried out with the performances from many famous comedians from all over the country like Xuan Hinh, Thanh Thanh Huyen, Hoai Linh, Chi Tai or Xuan Bac, Tu Long to popular actors/actresses with years devoted to their careers like Cong Ly or Van Dung. They are all dearly loved by Vietnamese people of many generations for bringing laughter to all the families.
In addition, other singers and performers like Quang Le, My Tam, Le Quyen also present their beautiful voices on the stage of Xuan Phat Tai 8. The masters of ceremonies are the well-known Lai Van Sam and Jennifer Pham, who are guaranteed to give you the most enjoyable moments in this last month of the lunar year.

4. Japanese cultural festival Oshougatsu 2018
With the purpose of celebrating 45 years of establishing the diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Japan, this cultural festival Oshougatsu will take place in January. Those who come to this festival will have the opportunity to feel the Japanese atmosphere right in Hanoi free of charge.
There will be plenty of captivating activities in the festival such as taking photographs with the biggest Kadomatsu tree in Vietnam, watching Yosakoi dance, trying Yukata – Japanese costume and many other traditional games from the land of the rising sun. You may also have the chance to receive adorable gifts from the organizer.
