Top 5 things to do in Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville is a province to the South of Cambodia and it’s known as a paradise of long coastline that take advantages of developing natural beautiful beaches. These beaches play an important role to tourism when people get there mostly for the purpose of swimming and participating in beach activities.

After discoveries in ancient temples around the North, visitors are usually choose Sihanoukville as a bed for relaxation. 5 of the most beautiful beaches are listed as follows:

  1. Otres beach

The beach has clean water, relatively long coastline, which make it more relaxed of swimming and walking on sand stretching out. Not only natures but also its development are forming a stunning tourism attraction with about 30 distinctive resorts and beach bungalow areas. Besides, you don’t forget existence of some luxury hotels if you find better quality of service.

Otres beach is split into 3 areas: Otres 1 is the busiest area, far Otres 2 about 2 km to the south – a place of resorts or well-known as ‘Long Beach’ . Otres 3 is really an inland located behind the back of Otres village.

Motorbike is widely used here at US$2 (US$5 for remork). When ride around city centre, you can ride to Omui St from Psar Leu.

  1. Kbal Chhay Cascades

Spectacular view of Kbal Chhay Cascades comes from its position in Pos Keng Kong (the giant roundabout) and itself lied on the Prek Toeuk Sap river. This ideal spot for picnic has been drawing many tourists curious to visit everyday.

From Sihanoukville, you can ride motorbike or remork with the cost around US$7/15 (return routes). It’s eastern from the city. You should both go and sometimes stop for directions from local people.

When you get there, after parking, go through a bridge and then it’s time to immerse yourself into the fresh water and watch the beautiful sight Mother Nature give.

  1. Occheuteal Beach

This 4km-long beach is far and away Sihanoukville. The rocky strip at the end of northwestern is Serendipity Beach , which develop some resort bar-restaurants that waves lap a couple of metres from the tables. All the day, this space is busy with vendors. If you would like to enjoy fresh atmosphere of marine, you can walk heading to the southern area of the beach.
Occheuteal beach is particularly full of visitors at weekends when families take time together for relaxation.

  1. Sokha Beach

1.5km-long Sokha beach is a beautiful one stretching on the midway between Independence and Serendipity beach.

The eastern end of this beach is available opened for all tourists to visit and relax. But the rest is Sokha beach resort. You’re welcomed to enjoy the sand here but should buy a drink or food.  To use the pool, you will be charged US$5

  1. Wat Leu, Sihanoukville

Located on Wat Leu road, it’s like a temple on high from which you can have a panorama of the city as well as capture amazing and peaceful sight of sunset.

You may spend US$2 for motorbike ride or more (about US$5) for remork. It’s far 1.5km from the north of city centre up to a hill.
