Brunei is known to be a wealthy, prosperity and peaceful kingdom. This is the fifth country in my journey discovery culture of Southeast Asian nations.
From Jakarta (Indonesia) , I have flights to Brunei , transit at Kuala Lumpur airport ( Malaysia ) .
Departure at 8:30, I went to Brunei at 15h30, in my hand is a map of the bus routes.
It took me an hour to find the way, and ask many people. But in Brunei almost everybody owns car so the bus information is limited, the bus only for migrant workers and tourists. Even call a taxi here is a very difficult.
First visit to Brunei, I was crestfallen. Actually traveling by bus in Brunei is easy it cost me for just $ 1 BND. Out of the airport, you look to the left there are blue bus tables, It take about 45 minutes to an hour for a next trip.
There are many bus routes in here, all routes lead to the Bandar center, which surrounded by a lot of famous attractions, free to travel.
Eating here is cheap, there are many restaurants with food prices under 1$ like chicken rice, egg rice, Indo noodles … In the supermarket, things are very cheap in my opinion, such as fresh meat, personal items ( chicken 2.7$, 2,1 kg pompano is only 1$)
However, hotels are very expensive. Brunei business is just for tourists. Local people have never been in the hotel. Brunei is a Muslim country so there are only few tourists in here.
I didn’t stay at the hotel, I chose the transplant room prices 12$/night. In my opinion, if you want you can camp in the heart of the forest. Brunei is like a primeval forest with sparse buildings inside.
In Brunei there are many attractions such as mosques (the most famous places are Sultan Omar Ali and Jame’asr asanil ), floating village, Art Brunei, told the royal eagle, history museums, night markets …
With a convenient location and rich natural, for long time ago Brunei has owned busiest ports.
Brunei’s rather small area, only about 5,700 km square, but fortunately possesses huge oil reserves, bringing prosperity to the kingdom.
Gold is used everywhere. They even use gold to decorate for 4-5 star hotels or the mosque, museum, palace.
Cathedral Jame Hassanil Bolikah ASSR has 29 peaks are covered in gold. An estimated 5 tonnes of gold were used to make this church.
Most of Brunei people are Muslim. This country does not sell alcohol and very little pork. They eat mostly fish and chicken.
Royal Regalia Museum is the repository of the evidence demonstrates the Brunei royal life over time.
Museum preserves many artifacts relating to the kings who ruled the kingdom of Brunei. The museum also has the shadow of impressive architecture. Guests can visit the free museum Royal Regalia on weekdays.
Thrones were made of pure gold, which is extremely sophisticated and impressive.
