The Perfume River (Vietnamese: Sông Hương or Hương Giang) is a river that crosses the capital city of Hue, in the central Vietnamese province of Thua Thien Hue. Perfume or Huong River is around 80 kilometers long, and owes its name to the fact that it flows through many forests of aromatic plants before reaching Hue, bringing with it a pure and fresh aroma. And one of the leisurely and photogenic ways to spend a half day in Hue is by taking a dragon boat excursion on the Perfume River. Within 4 hours, visitors will have a chance to get immersed into pure nature and pass by famouse places in Hue City like Thien Mu pagoda (known as Linh Mu pagoda), Hon Chen Temple (Hue Nam palace) and King Minh Mang’s mausoleum.
