The Perfume Pagoda is one of the highlights of the Hanoi area and one of the most important religious sites in Buddhist Vietnam. Every spring, after the Vietnamese New Year, thousands of Vietnamese pilgrims come here to pray for all the health and prosperity they need to get them through the year. The pagoda itself is situated in a huge cave built into limestone cliffs and can only be reached by boat or by foot, as there are no roads into the area. We will have the chance to glide along scenic waterways and walk up steep mountain paths visiting the pagodas and temples that were built in this area over the centuries
7:45 - 8:15 You are welcome by our tour guide and begin your trip to Perfume Pagoda, which is around 70km away from Hanoi.
After 1 and a half hour driving, we arrive. There will be electric car transfer from parking area to the Duc wharf. After relaxing for a while, we take the rowing boat along the Yen river, to Tro wharf, travel deeper into the Perfume Pagoda. This is your time to relax with fresh air, good sides view of limestone Mountains, rice fields and other boats rowing in front and behind.
A pagoda called Huong Tich is required to be crossed to reach the Huong Tich Cave. Visitors often cross the distance of 2.5 km to reach Huong Tich Cave. Most parts of the journey are sloping, tough and tortuous. you would notice a large dome-like jaw of a dragon which is basically Huong Tich. Five letters are printed on the upper side of the dome by Trinh Sam Lord as Most Beautiful Cave in South. Upon crossing the entrance and going down deep after almost 120 steps, you will confront a captivating inner part of the cave. Rice hill made of stalactite is present inside the middle part. Just move down a bit deep and you will encounter two paths.
We then have lunch break and meal at local restaurant, where you can recharge energy for the afternoon.
After lunch break, we will continue visiting Thien Tru (Heaven kitchen) pagoda. The pagoda was built on a rectangular-shaped piece of land running through the steep courtyard to the wall as the separation between the flat land and mountain behind the pagoda. The architectural style is known as "5 entrance with 3 steps". The unique architectural works contributes to promote Thien Tru Pagoda to become one of the fascinating tourist attractions in Hanoi. Over the lifetime of abbots, the construction and reconstruction of the pagoda are still continuously continued, leading Thien Tru Pagoda to be a magnificent castle among the mountains and forests of Huong Son, shows up as a unique artistic architecture. Tourists once setting foot on Huong Son in the journey of exploring Hanoi travel will surely not miss the unique tourist site.
After that, we travel back to Duc wharf for driving back to Hanoi with a relax slap or enjoy the countryside along the highway.
