In addition to 4 cultural events and festivals that are introduced to you in our Part 1, let’s explore the rest of what are waiting for you in the last days of this month. January is coming to an end, but there are still a lot of appealing events and festivals happening around the town.

 

5. Despacito (Đảo Chong Chóng) – Bohemian’s Year-End Fair

If you are looking for a place to gather with your friends and bring home some creative stuff to get ready for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, visit this Year-End Fair Despacito at Big C Thang Long. They offer numerous products in Bohemian style, together with henna drawing or tarot cards reading.

Additionally, many artists are invited to perform at the fair, such as singers Tran The Hoang, Bui The Loc, or Angelo Dance Studio Japan. Plus, one of the most special event here is a huge outside screen to stream the final match between Vietnam and Uzbekistan in the AFC U-23 Championship 2018 that the whole nation is excited about.

6. Tiger Remix Music Festival

The Tiger Remix is one of the most popular music festivals, and this is not the first time it has been held in Vietnam. It takes place not only in the capital city of Vietnam but also in many different cities and provinces from North to South, such as Ha Long, Nha Trang, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City. Coming here, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a huge crowd and enjoy the music by the top musicians like Dan Truong, Son Tung MTP or Lou Hoang.

The event starts at around 2 PM on January 27, 2018. At 3 PM, the organizers will also stream the final match of AFC Championship between Vietnam and Uzbekistan. Every Vietnamese is waiting for this match, and if you have stayed here the last few days, you will be able to understand why. It feels like everybody floods out into the streets bringing their pans, pots or other kitchen cookwares with thousands of red flags to celebrate.

After the match, the music festival will continue until midnight. Don’t forget to come here and enjoy your weekend right at the heart of Hanoi!

7. “Chắt lọc truyền thống, thổi vào đương đại” – Talkshow about Vietnamese traditional patterns in arts

If you are interested in the traditional arts and culture of one country, especially in the paintings from hundreds of years ago, this is the event for you. They will discuss about Hang Trong paintings, a genre of Vietnamese woodcut art that dated back to the 17th century during the reign of Le dynasty. In the past, it is an essential element when it comes to Tet – Lunar New Year Holiday in Vietnam.

Beside, the audience will also have the chance to take part in the talkshow of designer Trinh Thu Trang, the author of the book “Họa sắc Việt từ tranh Hàng Trống” (Viet’s patterns in Hang Trong paintings) and learn more about this symbol of traditional culture and aesthetic value.

8. Les contes de la nuit (Midnight’s fairy tale)

Hosted by L’Espace, the France’s Cultural Centre in Hanoi, anyone joining this event will watch six different fairy tales woven together and told under the golden hand of the French director Michel Ocelot. With the performance of three talented actors/actresses Julien Beramis, Marine Griset and Michel Elias, viewers will be taken into the world of fairies, wizards, of palaces and churches, and of those magical creatures that only exist in these nighttime stories. You will be back to being yourself ten, twenty years ago just by taking part in this event.
