Best morning cafe in Hanoi
It is not hard for you to have a cup of espresso or latte in Hanoi but if you want to try the real local coffee with the unique atmosphere at the boutiques which have existed for more than 2 decade, let try 5 cafés bellow.
1. CAFE PHO CO
11 HÀNG GAI, HÀNG TRỐNG, HOÀN KIẾM,
HÀ NỘI, VIETNAM (+84) 567 45 343
From 8:00 am – midnight
You’ll find Ca Phe Pho Co on the lists of best café in Vietnam from the NY Times and CNN. It has the allure of being tucked above and behind a small exclusive shop and also has a great view of the lake from its multiple levels of overlooking terraces. The coffee is not our only favorite and you’re paying a high cost for the view (it’s the most expensive coffee we’ve drunk in Hanoi), but it is a nice view and worth a look if you’re in the area. The building is interesting and we’re commonly ok paying a fee for drinks when they come with any sort of view.
2. HANOI SOCIAL CLUB
6 NGÕ HỘI VŨ, HÀNG BÔNG, HOÀN KIẾM,
HÀ NỘI, VIETNAM
From 8:00am – 11:00pm
Hanoi Social Club is a delightful spot with multiple floors of different spaces and many rooms to relax and hang out for a while. Good location to get some work done or just take pleasure in a coffee in a hipster hangout. It’s no secret that we have an affinity for rooftops so, naturally, we like to head to the third floor terrace and make an egg coffee in the plant-filled oasis overlooking street life below.
3. GIANG
39 NGUYỄN HỮU HUÂN, LÝ THÁI TỔ, HOÀN KIẾM,
HÀ NỘI, VIETNAM (+ 84) 629 40 495
From 8:00 am – 11:00pm
When you ask anyone about Hanoi’s the best egg coffee aka (ca phe trung), Giang is always considered as one of the best places to try. We agree, the “ca phe trung” at Giang is great as is the elegant decor that creates the full experience of a true local Hanoi cafe.
4. DINH
13 ĐINH TIÊN HOÀNG, HÀNG BẠC, HOÀN KIẾM,
HÀ NỘI, VIETNAM
From 7:30am – 9pm
Dinh is surely our favorite spot in Hanoi. You’ll pretty much only see local people in there, the coffee is tasty, and the atmosphere is just about as local as it gets. When you come there you will surprised because that begins in a bootleg bag shop, down a hallway to a stairway that make you feel like you’re heading into someone’s apartment and then opens onto a smoky room filled with local kids sipping coffee in tiny seats on rusty plate metal floors.
5. Cafe Nhi
72 PHU LO, SOC SON, HANOI VIET NAM +84 90 488 83 65
Mon-Sun: 7am – 11pm
Tucked away in a cozy corner, near LongBien Bridge, there is the small Café named Nhi, a dainty shop that tends to be so hustling that customers sometimes could be found standing outside on the pavement. They serve espresso-based coffee drinks, silky textured lattes and homegrown Vietnamese filter coffees. Their coffee is strong and tasty. This is a great place to go for hang out with a friend enjoy a cup of coffee and observe people walk by while sipping on the caffeinated treat.
