The Mekong Delta is a treasure trove of adventure. The place where the Mekong River runs into a series of tributaries, spanning 15,000 square miles, the Vietnamese call the area Cuu Long, which means “Nine Dragons,” a reference to the nine tributaries that snake along the ocean. While life in the Delta primarily revolves around the river, the area encompasses a large section of land, too.

1. River boat cruises
For the first-time visitor to Asia, a Mekong River Cruise is a fantastic starting point. 2. Tra Su Indigo Forest
This fascinating ecotourism site in the An Giang Province is a vibrant (but dry) forested area most of the year and it turns into a flooded forest in September and October, during rainy season, which are considered the best times to visit the region. The Tra Su indigo forest has 4 types of plant community: Alkaline submerged arbor, that is Melaleuca cajuputi, gaining 85% of areas and evenly distributing throughout the area; arbor on waterway banks, irrigation ditch sides; aquarium on waterways, irrigation ditches; Herbaceous plant submerged on acid soil.
On jungle animals, approximately 70 water bird species, 11 animal species, 20 reptile species and 5 frog species. On fisheries, 25 fish species are recorded high economic value.
3. Floating market

It’s the perfect place to find a quiet moment of tranquility and escape the throngs of people milling the streets.
5. Sam Mountain
From Long Xuyen, you haveone has to travel almost 60km to get to Sam Mountain which lies west of Chau Doc City, at approximately 2km from the frontier between Vietnam and Cambodia. The 230m high mountain does not only offer beautiful landscapes, but it is also where many historic remains deeply loved by the inhabitants of Nam Bo plain are located. Ba Chua Xu Temple, Tay An Pagoda, Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb, Tao Ngo Garden, and Bach Van Hill are among the famous sites to visit near Sam Mountain.
