_{Join in Hung Yen tour to explore traditional craft village which is more than 200 years old}

 

_{Villagers said that bamboo-weaving village in the Thu Sy commune, Tien Lu, Hung Yen Province is about 240 years old and, still exists and develops.}

 

_{To do knit people need to be skilful and meticulous. But in the Thu Sy commune, Tien Lu, both the old and young children can make up products. The lady here shared, they started knitting it since they was 5.}

 

_{Raw material for making the fishing basket, it’s cork which is carried from forest. They has oval form, pointed base, small mouth round. A skilled person takes about 15-20 minutes to create a complete basket.}

 

_{Therer 3-4 kinds of basket, including 2 major categories such as smoked and white eelpot. The white eelpot is cheaper, cost about 20,000 dong.}

 

_{That smoked eelpots are made fastidiously with, 3 times beeing smoked for more color. Smoked eelpt more durable, not moss and cost around 30,000-40,000 VND a.}

 

 

_{After farming and studying, on hand of young people and older people there are cork fibers which are ready to be knitted. Every day, in the village, young and old busily dry ‘nan’, knit ‘đó’, creating unique images of rural village. This work contributed to 50% of income for the villagers.}

 

_{When completed, these products are carried away to sell at the delta of Tien Lu, An Thi, Phu Cu at Hung Yen and Bac Ninh provinces, Hai Duong, Hai Phong …the customers are farmers who always use them to catch crab, fish, eels ..at the river, fields….}

 

_{Each month villagers transport average 10-15 trip of ellpot (‘đó’).}

 

_{People said even in the no-bike period, they used to bear and sell ‘đó’ everywhere.}

_{Look simple, but it takes about 2 hours to fasten products.}

_{Each ‘đó’ can contain 8-9 kg of fish, shrimp, and is an indispensable tool for fishing on the rivers, the delta, around the northern lagoon.}
