To get the “Mu u” which is used for lighting, people here have to wait for nine month for the fruits ripen and drop. They seek to bring about the dam and gather the gut inside, leaving the outer bark, then crushed or mixed with dried coconut fibers, incubated for two weeks. Then people mould “mu u” into prepared bamboo sticks and bask for 3, 4 days then it can be burn. Each stick can fire for 30 minutes.

Sew leaves is the familiar job of the people in Western Vietnam. In the photo, a French tourist is gathering nipa leaves under the leading of a local woman. Coconut leaves are then soaked in water for a while to limber blankly. The primary use is to make the roof or walls.

The host is a soldier who participated in the war, and lost a part of his body at the battle. He enthusiastically tell the visitors the story of his life, how the village was bombed in wartime and accompanist for guests listen to revolutionary songs.
